Collaborate to create
Our experts first familiarized themselves with process challenges, then the needs of each type of user.
This led to the creation of ApprOly, a PWA solution designed to support Olymel’s future initiatives in the live animal supply sector.
Did you know?
PWAs offer a user experience close to native applications on mobile, allowing direct installation and the use of most smartphone resources. They simplify deployment by avoiding the constraints and delays imposed by app stores while reducing costs. Indeed, a PWA works on both mobile and web, eliminating the need to develop two separate versions. Moreover, maintenance costs are lower, as a PWA is not subject to the specific requirements of mobile operating systems, making updates and compatibility easier.

Centralized and synchronized information
Operating with several third parties, it was essential to create a solution capable of managing the load requests issued by Olymel to its numerous transport partners. By choosing to create it as a PWA, the ApprOly portal can track each request and offer the corresponding interfaces to each contributor, adapting to the device they use.
Taking the example of requisition forms, the portal simultaneously allows users to:
- View load requests
- Create requisitions
- View the list of requisitions
- View the details of a requisition
- Execute requisitions
A PWA that adapts to all mobility needs
Thanks to a solid governance structure and an excellent level of involvement from Olymel’s stakeholders, our experts were very quickly able to understand precisely the needs of each type of user. Stakeholders were involved at every stage of the process to ensure that the portal met their needs and constraints.
They quickly identified the need to provide the portal on multiple types of devices: in desktop format for tracking load requests initiated by Olymel and their processing into requisitions by transporters; and in mobile format for the execution of requisitions by truck drivers, sometimes without an internet connection, ensuring that the solution is available in offline mode. A PWA solution meets this specific need while also allowing the use of native mobile features, such as notifications, for example.

“In addition to being less expensive for Olymel than a mobile application, the PWA fully supports all the necessary native mobile functionalities while offering the same advantages and performance on the web. We aimed to translate the complexity of a reality into a product that is simple, adapted to everyone, and accessible everywhere.”

The ApprOly portal integrates perfectly with Olymel’s existing and migrating systems.
It was designed to support various processes with its partners in the future.
Charles-Olivier Levasseur explains: “The ApprOly project clearly illustrates the benefits of the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) approach. Even though its digital transformation is of a very large scale, it allows Olymel’s supply chain to start quickly, within a reasonable budget, while considering the long-term vision.”
In this case, Olymel chose to establish solid foundations by starting with a key process in its live animal supply chain, upon which it can build a powerful ecosystem of complementary solutions.

Conclusion
A successful launch
Since its launch in early June 2024 with Transbec S.E.C., one of Olymel’s poultry transport partners, the results are undeniable:
- 100% adoption rate in the first three months of launch
- 1 hour and 30 minutes saved per day for the transporter
Thank you to Olymel for their continued trust and quality collaboration!
